Mullet Bay the large white sand beach
Palm-shaded and framed in seagrapes. Once it was the busiest beach on the island, but St. Maarten’s largest resort, Mullet Bay, has been shuttered (save for a timeshare section) since Hurricane Luis in 1995. But the storm didn’t dampen the adjacent beach’s beauty, and travelers are still generally pleased with Mullet Bay’s soft sand and surfer-ready waves. Many call calm and quiet Mullet make a decent alternative to the noise and sand blasts of Maho, or to the crowds of the French side’s Orient Bay. Watersports equipment can be rented at a local kiosk, and two beach bars sell refreshments. The snorkeling is not bad along the rocks.
Marvel at the sights, revel in the sounds, and soak up the local atmosphere. Mullet area is known for their unbeatable locations and tourist-friendly amenities, and the range of must-stay hotels lets you customize your vacation to suit your unique needs.
